Our Camper

In June 2010, we bought this 2009 Palomino Stampede 195SD hybrid camping trailer. This is the first time for us to buy a hybrid, it is also our first time to buy a Palomino.

Despite its short length, it has lots of room. Here is a view of the wardrobe, refrigerator, sofa, and front bunk.

We love our Palomino Stampede! We are very happy with the quality of the trailer both inside and outside.

Our tow vehicle is a 2001 Ford E-350 Chateau Super Duty Econoline van. 5.4L engine (255 horsepower and 350 foot-pounds of torque), 4R70W transmission, 3.73:1 differential. We absolutely love this van for pulling the camper both short and long distances.

The Miklas Family

The Miklas Family ~ George, Jodi, Janalyn and Caleb

Making music for the Lord! ~ Have harmonicas, will travel!

The Miklas’ will minister to your congregation with their testimony, hymn arrangements, praise/worship music, vocal and harmonica, solos and duets. The kids join in on many of the vocal selections and play harmonicas too.

One highlight of their presentation is the World's Largest Harmonica. Both Jodi and George move this 2 foot long harmonica back and forth with ease. Another highlight is when George plays his World's Smallest Harmonica. He plays this one-inch harmonica with no hands by manipulating the instrument between his lips as he plays Count Your Many Blessings, Jesus Loves Me and The B-I-B-L-E. To balance the instruments is Jodi's voice. Her sheer vocal presence will surely touch the hearts of many and leave your congregation singing praises.

GEORGE MIKLAS is a college graduate and has a Bachelor's of Music degree in Education--band and orchestral music. George’s instrument of choice is the Harmonica. He has performed professionally with Jerry Murad's Harmonicats.

JODI MIKLAS, is a college graduate and has a Bachelor's of Music Education degree with an emphasis in vocal performance and choral conducting. While in college, Jodi spent her summers with ministry teams, which traveled in U.S., Australia, and New Zealand.

The merging of Jodi's and George's lives actually began on stage. They met backstage while performing for a full house on the largest stage between New York and Chicago in New Castle, PA. After an exchange of smiles and phone numbers, it was obvious that God had set the "stage" for their lives to be together. God has allowed George and Jodi to uniquely blend their talents and abilities to share through testimony and music the ministry, which God has placed so deep in their hearts.

The Miklas’ are available for concerts and would be delighted to come to your church, revival, picnic, wedding, or banquet. We are located in Western Pennsylvania, and willing to schedule travel anywhere according to availability. For more details and availability, please contact us by e-mail.

Our past campers

2000 Georgie Boy Pursuit 33' with slide out. This model featured facing sofas so that our kids could have separate places to sleep. Absolutely loved the automatic levelers. I did several chassis modifications including adding a Davis TruTrac bar, adding a leaf spring to the rear, and replacing shocks with Bilstiens. Adding the leaf spring was the wrong thing to do as that totally changed the ride. I learned this only after visiting a spring shop and discussing what was done and why. They convinced me that the extra leaves needed to be removed taking the springs back to original, and the chassis only needed to be "leveled". So the result was enough to make me a believer.

2000 Trail Lite 7253. This trailer featured two dinettes and bunk beds. Ultra light weight. Pictured here with our 1994 Ford E-350 Chateau Club Wagon, 460 CID (7.5L), E4OD transmission, 4.11:1 differential.

2002 Apache bunkhouse. This model had a front dinette, center bathroom, and 4 bunks in the rear. What I thought was a good design, turned out to be aweful as it had absolutely no interior room pass another person...and the bathroom door locked someone in the bunkhouse from getting out. We bought it brand new, 4 years old, from Hushard's RV near Syracuse NY. This trailer turned out to be a lemon for us as it had "LOT ROT" ... a brand new trailer, with an apparently leaking roof, but not detected until it is driven (shaking and vibrations) down the road. And that was the case with this one. Its first trip was when I pulled it home 280 miles in November, 2006. By the time I got home, the rear wall and back edges of both side walls were delaminated from moisture trapped inside the studded walls with batting insulation. Batting is the worst type of insulation for an RV because it holds water like a chamois. Despite the dealer swearing to me (before the sale) that this NEW trailer had full manufacturer's warranty, the manufacturer, Sun Valley Inc, denied my claim on the walls.

This is our 1981 Jayco popup. It was given to us with a rotted roof. Jodi's grandpa and I rebuilt the roof and used it for two camping seasons. Pulled by our 1993 Plymouth Voyager 2.5L with 5-speed manual transmission. 21 MPG pulling the camper--slow but sure.
